Our organization wishes to promote attachment parenting through babywearing and skin-to-skin. This parenting is sometimes challenged by precarious circumstances: unwanted or precocious pregnancy, parent or child handicap, premature birth, hospitalization, insufficient financial means, family violence etc etc…
The organization has been active since January 2008. It has provided many baby carriers to parents (moms beaten by their partner, reconstructing their life; blind parents; handicapped parents) et to structures (group of blind parents at the Institut de Puericulture, and group of deaf parents-to-be at the Maternity Unit of La Pitie-Salpetriere, in Paris, France) thanks to the generosity of manufacturers and sympathizing parents. Also, about 400 parents a year learn how to carry their child free of charge.
We wish to intensify our action thanks to gifts of ergonomical carriers and maybe later gifts of money which will enable us to buy more carriers. We invite manufacturers to join our action, and to all those who have a baby carrier or a wrap lying unused in a closet, our message is “Make a baby in need happy! You have no idea how much her life and her parents’ life might be changed”.
We are not doing an act of charity but of solidarity: the wraps and other means of babywearing are not given but lent as long as the person needs them; then they get passed on to someone else. When possible the beneficiary from this help will in turn communicate her knowledge in babywearing.
